Grey's Fine Cheeses
In three words or less: what does being a cheesemonger mean to you?
Preserving sharing caring!
I have been a lifelong food guy-but always a fan of cheese. I've worked in food in some capacity off and on, owned a gym, sold construction equipment- but cheese has always been there for me. After doing some cheeseboards as corporate gifts for a client, the recipients asked if they could order them as well. Our focus was on using great cheese, and adding a card with some history of each cheese selected. We made a website that eventually turned into 3 retail stores with dine-in all based around great cheese.

Passionate, Caregiving, Troubadour.
My previous work and leisure experiences involved exploring the globe and providing service. I learned sharing food creates community and conversation. Cheese always makes a meal more memorable! Six years ago, I bought my cheese shop so I could share my favorite flavors with you. By learning about you, tasting cheese and indulging your palette, you truly can taste the world one cheese at a time. At The Cheese Traveler we embrace our role as Cheesemongers by sharing our excitement and providing the best quality local, domestic, and international cheese selections and artisan products while giving each guest outstanding service.

DiBruno Bros, 9th Street Italian Market
In three words or less: what does being a cheesemonger mean to you?
Nutritionally dense storytelling.
Coming from a long line of restauranteurs, I've always had an interest in food. After a dozen years working in restaurants, I found my passion for local food and global cheese. This chapter began at a food hub in Western New York, where I learned about local food and, more specifically about cheese. A move to Philadelphia and a job behind the counter at DiBruno Bros would prove to be exactly what I needed to grow my knowledge and develop my storytelling capabilities.

Fromagination
Three words describing what does being a cheesemonger mean to you? What’s at peak?
As a mechanical engineer recently turned cheesemonger, I am passionate about learning and educating my customers when they walk into Fromagination on the Capitol Square in downtown Madison, WI. We celebrate our cheesemakers by sharing their stories and craft, so it is only natural for me to want to test my monger grasp by attending CMI. I am ecstatic about participating and hope to pick many tips and tricks along the way.

Sharing passion for cheese.
Like most mongers I’ve met, I fell into the cheese world by chance. I was looking to return to the work force after taking a year off after I had my daughter. I applied to Wegmans and was introduced to the world of cheese! 9 years later I love it more each day! I love finding new ways to educate not only myself but my team. Growing the passion for cheese is the best part of the job! I love to grow the excitement with my team that in turn helps gain customers for life! I’m developing the next generation of mongers!!!
